(Cape Town, South Africa) – 15 On Orange Hotel, Autograph Collection, hosted a decadent Italian dining experience on Friday, 26 July, spearheaded by Executive Chef and culinary mastermind, Tamsyn Wells with live Italian music. Situated in the heart of the city, the Urban Oasis welcomed guests to a magnificent, majestic setting of luxurious modernity and lush greenery, complimented by breath-taking views of Table Mountain and Lion’s Head.

The three-course dinner experience highlighted Chef Tamsyn’s immaculate adaptation of the increasingly popular international bistronomy food trend, with an Italian flair. The immersive sensory experience commenced with the guests arriving with the soothing sounds of Italian jazz musician Francesca Biancoli, setting the ambiance for the evening ahead.

To begin the Italian taste tour guests arrived in Saronno, Italy, the birthplace of Amaretto. Offering guests a Disaronno, Fitch & Leedes and Happy Culture welcome drink. S.Pellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages were also on offer to all of the guests, complimenting the night with their rich Italian history. This delicious non-alcoholic sparkling soft drink fully conveys the natural flavour of Italian fruit. Guests were transported from Seranno to the Island of Capri with a mouth-watering Antispasta platter to share paired with superbly balanced glass of  Chateau Del Rei.

For the second course, Chef Wells delighted the taste buds by transporting guests to the homeland of meat in Italian cuisine and renowned for some of the world’s most recognizable Renaissance art and architecture, Tuscany. Presenting a dichotomy of traditional Italian cuisine with an influence of modern molecular bistronomy: Roast Beef Sirloin Tagliata Topped with rucola, grana Padano, roasted heirloom tomato, crispy baby potatoes; or Baked butternut squash and chickpea falafels (veggie option), Rasl el hanout, kale and braised lentils. San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna kept the guests hydrated throughout the evening.

Ending off an exquisite journey of the senses guests stopped at the foot of the Alps in Piedmont, known for sophisticated cuisine and the birthplace of the beloved Panna Cotta. The link from savoury to sweet was the an indulgent, rich and creamy Affogato panna cotta with coffee jelly, amaretti biscuit and dark chocolate ganache created by Patisserie Chef, Retha Thorpe.
